"The core of the game is pretty much like a stealth game, so you have to avoid enemies, hide from enemies and run away from enemies. But the action comes into play when you have to run from them, so this is where we are using our experience making games like Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed. To try and make the chases as exciting as possible," studio co-founder Philippe Morin told Joystiq.

Warframe

Warframe Confirmed PS4 Launch Title
Heres the link to the ign.com article
http://ap.ign.com/en/news/6994/free-...-coming-to-ps4

I think its awsome that the game is expanding so well. All I need to hear now is that our profiles carry over and it would be perfect. I'm also very interested in hearing more about the "companion application for both iOS and Android"

Today, IGN can confirm that Warframe, the “space ninja” co-op game, is coming to PlayStation 4. It will launch alongside Sony’s new hardware, and will follow a similar free-to-play, microtransaction model as the game does on PC

Tiny Brains

After my Spearhead Games co-founders and I wrapped up Assassin’s Creed III and Dead Space 3, respectively, we wanted to get out of the AAA world and back to the basics of why we love video games: playing together with friends, finding new ways to interact and challenging your brain.
With these ideas in mind, we founded our own indie studio, and started making Tiny Brains, a co-op puzzle game – which we can now reveal will be headed to PS4! Tiny Brains is set in a lab where four super-powered animals have to work together to solve puzzles and escape from a mad scientist’s experiment. We chose this theme because now that we are indie devs and have more flexibility, experimentation is what we’re all about in our creative process.

We have a “no design doc” policy at Spearhead. Being able to do this has been one of the best things about going indie, and the philosophy helps us make significant creative developments in a short amount of time. With no design docs, we can think about how to make the best experience at all times. When a designer has a cool idea for a puzzle or level, they just make it, and we all play it together. From there we decide whether the prototype should be incorporated, tweaked, or chucked.
As we went back and forth playing early prototypes with each other, our game emerged almost by itself: four cute and quirky characters with unique powers of creation, teleportation, force, and protection, which can be combined in a number of different ways. Because of this design flexibility, we’ve discovered that there are actually more than 16 different ways players can combine their powers to solve the first level alone!

We took this experimental philosophy with us on the road to PAX East where Tiny Brains made its first public debut. In our PAX Experiment, we studied attendees as they played, and asked them to fill out surveys about their experience. Since our design flexibility lets us make updates quickly and we’re committed to trying different things until we have the best game possible, we’ve already incorporated feedback and ideas from the surveys into our latest build, which will be at E3 this year (south hall, booth 2359). All PAX players rated Tiny Brains ‘fun’ or ‘extremely fun,’ so we feel like we’ve been on the right track!
From the beginning, we set out to make a game that turns strangers into friends, and our PAX experiment confirmed our hypothesis. In Tiny Brains, players can’t get by without talking to each other. They really need to collaborate as every character’s power is required to solve puzzles. That said – we’ve enjoyed seeing how many ways our playtesters have successfully completed the challenges. Each group has had a different approach: since there’s no one “right” answer to a given challenge, the right way becomes how the playtesters agree to move forward, based on what they think as individuals and how they want to work with each other. At launch, Tiny Brains will have over a dozen challenge maps to complete, with more to explore and unlock.

As a new indie studio, we can’t be more excited to be a part of video games’ next-generation with our PS4 release and show the world the results of our grand experiment. Stay tuned for more information, and if you’re going to E3 we’d love you to check us out in the south hall, booth 2359 and see what we have in store this summer!
Do you like co-op games? Do you remember the very first game you ever played together with a friend? Mine was “Ice Climbers” – tell me yours in the comments!

Blacklight: Retribution (free-to-play FPS)

Blacklight: Retribution arrived to little in the way of bated breath when it launched in August of 2012. In addition to being a sequel to the unremarkable Blacklight: Tango Down, Retribution was also pitched as a free-to-play competitive multiplayer title in a genre that hasn’t been particularly well suited to the format. Developed by Zombie Studios in Seattle and published by free-to-play MMORPG purveyor Perfect World in Beijing, the FPS achieved only modest success despite a positive critical reception.
After negotiating console rights to the title back from Perfect World, however, Zombie now seeks to turn Retribution’s fortunes around. We spoke with the studio’s creative director Jared Gerritzen about finding the game its new home on PlayStation 4.
Did Sony approach you to get Blacklight on PlayStation 4?
We’ve been talking to Sony off and on since E3 of last year. As the system matured, Sony made it clear that they were looking for content, and we just happened to secure the console rights to Blacklight: Retribution. After discussing it further, our goals were perfectly in line with their goals and it just happened to be right place and right time on both parties.
How is Sony working with you on the project, and how has that relationship changed since the PS3 days?
Sony has always been a great partner to work with through the years, but with the PS4 they have really made it easier for developers like us. They’ve streamlined the submission process significantly, so getting to the point of working on a game is much quicker and easier. Additionally, getting support such as development kits or technical support has been great. It’s clear that Sony went back and listened to where developers were having problems and are actively trying to resolve those issues and help developers.
You’ve mentioned that much of your tech is being redeveloped for PS4 – can you elaborate?
We’re working hard on extending Unreal Engine 3 to make the most out of the PS4, including taking advantage of the new rendering pipeline the system has. We’ve been using UE3 for a number of years and it’s a proven performer as a toolset. We’ve also been updating the user interface to benefit playing on a television and using a controller. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to get into a game and start playing.

Dead or Alive 5

Winning Eleven 2014 | Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 | Fox Engine

A couple of hours ago, we presented you the teaser trailer of PES 2014. PES 2014 is powered by the FOX Engine and a proper trailer will be released during E3. And since we expect great things from that engine, a lot of people were confused about the content of that teaser trailer. Some suggested that it was CGI, while others claimed that it was in-game footage. And it appears that the trailer did not contain any CGI scenes at all.

When a fan asked Adam Bhatti, PES European Community Manager, about the content of this trailer, Bhatti said that he was flattered by the fact that some people called it CGI. In other words, Bhatti has just confirmed that all of the teaser trailer’s footage was actually in-game.

Konami will unveil the the first official trailer of Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 during its Pre-E3 Show on Thursday, June 6 2013, at 10AM PST.

Enjoy!

Murdered: Soul Suspect

This morning, Square Enix initiated a guerilla marketing campaign for something apparently new and murder oriented, slated for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, with potential ties to Eidos Interactive and confirmed connections to us being super creeped out by the whole thing.

It started with the Twitter account @Murdered tweeting the message "What is ..." followed by a link to the above picture, which appeared to be a section of a photograph of a tree with something carved into its bark. Attempting to navigate to one of the picture's "files" parent folder results in being automatically redirected to an eidosinteractive.com subdomain. Ah ha!

Minutes later, we received an email from a Square Enix e-mail address (masquerading as an "@murdered.com" address) with the subject header "What is the hardest case to solve?" Contained inside was a second image, which combined perfectly with the image that had been tweeted earlier.

Naturally we decided to check out murdered.com, and were met by an image of the symbol scrawled on asphalt in chalk, accompanied by a link to the official twitter account and icons revealing the project's related platforms. A whois search revealed that the domain is registered to Naoto Sugiyama, a senior manager at Square Enix., and a glance at the site's source code revealed certain assets as being hosted on Eidos webspace.

Furthermore, Square Enix registered a Japanese trademark for "Murdered: Soul Suspect" back in December of last year, Siliconera reports. We've contacted both Square Enix and the murdered.com address and will update with any new discoveries we're able to make.

Update: Well, that was fun while it lasted. Square Enix has confirmed to us that Murdered: Soul Suspect is "an exciting new game from Square Enix which challenges players to solve possibly the hardest case of all," which obviously wasn't this case, since all we had to do was send an email and ask. Eidos' potential involvement, however, does remain a mystery.
